WHAT IS CLOSED CELL FOAM INSULATION?
Foam insulation is an alternative to more traditional insulation products such as bead and wool. Foam insulation is often chosen for because it offers a greater level of insulation meaning it cuts energy costs and utility bills. Foam insulation also offers great noise reduction qualities as the foam doesn’t allow as much noise to travel through as traditional forms of insulation. There are two types of foam insulation open or closed cell foam insulation. Both offer the qualities listed above however closed cell foam insulation because of its closed cell structure will not absorb and allow water to soak through the cavity effecting the inside of a property. Closed cell foam insulation can be used in both the roof and the cavity wall of a domestic property as well as being used in commercial and industrial buildings such as offices or warehouse.
THE BENEFITS OF CLOSED CELL FOAM INSULATION
• Closed cell foam is very versatile and can be used to insulate a number of different property types.
• It also offers structural stability in both the cavity wall and the roof of a property.
• Closed cell structure means it won’t be affected by wind driven rain or flooding.
• Will prevent the growth of mould or condensation to internal walls where it has been applied.
• The closed cell structure has buoyancy qualities so certain products can be used on barge, canal boats and even Ocean going yachts
